The disappearance of people is a difficult problem faced by Mexico, a country that has a record of 110,000 cases, which is why several groups of searching mothers have been formed, who not only face the pain of not having their loved ones, but also many difficulty finding them.
Recently one of them, Ceci Patricia Flores Armentareported through his social networks that during a search action in Cerro de la Virgen, south of Hermosillo, in the Mexican state of Sonora, They were victims of an attack by armed men who threatened and insulted them while shooting.
“There are six people on top of a hill, they are shooting and shouting obscene things, we have asked the National Guard for help, at no time have we even received a response, much less support,” said Ceci Flores in a live video on her account. of X (formerly Twitter).
He also announced that There were 13 searching mothers who were in that place carrying out errandswere accompanied by the State Police, two people from the Sonora Prosecutor’s Office and one from the Search Commission, who dispersed at the time of the events, so they were looking for them to be able to leave the site and get to safety.

Through her transmission, she asked the authorities to modify the search protocols, since they currently have to wait 72 hours to receive support, but the founder of the Searching Mothers of Sonora collective asserted that they cannot wait that long, since they must act immediately as soon as possible. Controversial response from the authorities
After the reported events, the Sonora Person Search Commission made a publication on social networks in which it refuted what the searcher mother said, assuring that “a couple of people in a state of destitution were shouting indecipherable messages, which were removed by part of the authorities without representing danger to the people who participated in the search.”
Ceci Flores denied the publication official ensuring that there were six people, and said in an interview for Milenio that it was not true that the attackers were removed from the site.
“If you are not going to publish the truth, do not publish lies, because the authorities who accompanied us confirm what the mothers say,” he said on his X account.
This is not the first time that the members of the Searching Mothers of Sonora have been the target of an attack, including Ceci Flores has state protection because she has received threats against her lifewhich took a drastic turn with the disappearance of his two children, whom he has continued to search for since 2019.
