The Mexico national team will have the difficult mission of overcoming a result of two goals to zero against the Honduran team in the quarterfinals of the Concacaf of the Nations League to get a pass to the Copa America 2024. This caused a former player of the Aztec team to talk about the performance of the tricolor.
Carlos Suarez, historic Mexican soccer player who played three World Cups with Mexico (1994, 1998 and 2006) and won three Gold Cups (1993, 1996 and 1998), hopes that The Tri can overcome that score at home.
“There are two goals, I know that two goals are heavy and being in the Azteca stadium, just as the Hondurans are at home and because we had very bullies, when they went to the Azteca it weighed a lot on them and the Azteca weighs a lot and there I think that Mexico has to show that personality and I think they have to come back”First, go for the tie and be careful that they don’t score a goal because as a visitor it’s worth double and I think they can come back,” said Suárez.
The former player thinks that this match could be totally different from the previous one, because The Mexican public will greatly influence the match to encourage the Aztec players.
“I’m going to the club level, they swept Atlas in Concacaf in Honduras, Olimpia scored four and then they went to Guadalajara, to Jalisco where Atlas ended up turning them around, the Hondurans’ legs trembled, I don’t know what they felt happened, the same thing can happen in Guadalajara,” he commented.
