Santiago Giménez’s future could be in Spain after there was talk in recent months about the possibility of the Feyenoord star ending up at Real Madrid. This possibility is the best thing that could happen to the forward according to Andrés Guardado, who knows very well what it is like to play in the Eredivisie as well as in LaLiga.

Although “Bebote” has also sounded strongly about reaching teams in the Premier League or Serie A, the opportunity to Going to LaLiga would be a difficult opportunity for the Mexican forward to reject one of the best attackers in the current season in the Netherlands. This is what Guardado considered in a recent interview with ESPN.

“I would tell him that here (Spain) he is going to become a real footballer” declared Andrés Guardado, one of the figures of Betis who is experiencing a good start to the season in 2023, placing himself in European competition positions after the first 12 days of the championship.

“I have no doubt that when he gets the opportunity to play in Spain he will not hesitate”added the midfielder who highlighted that he has good memories of the Eredivisie where he spent three seasons with PSV Eindhoven. “I have a lot of love for that league and a lot of respect for the Dutch people”.

Regarding the differences between the championship of the Netherlands and that of Spain, Andrés Guardado highlighted that for Santiago Giménez it is important to continue adding experience in the Eredivisie but that in LaLiga he will be able to take a step forward in his career.

“Here (in Spain) there are many things that you don’t find in the Netherlands, there are also many things there that are helping him a lot and that is why he is becoming the player he is”highlighted the 37-year-old midfielder, who is in his 18th season in European football where he has played with Betis, PSV, Valencia, Bayer Leverkusen and Deportivo La Coruña.

And Andrés Guardado is right, since in just his second season on the Old Continent Santiago Giménez has become a fundamental piece at Feyenoordboth for winning the title last season and in the current season in which he is the second best scorer in the tournament with 13 goals, just one less than the Greek Vangelis Pavlidis of AZ Alkmaar.

“Whenever he wants to take that next step, LaLiga will wait for him with open arms because he has enormous potential and, on top of everything, he can still be much better than what he is now.”highlighted Andrés Guardado who stressed the relevance that all of Santi Giménez’s growth can have an impact on the Mexican National Team.

“For my country this could be very good”highlighted the midfielder in relation to the forward who has become a regular for Mexican coach Jaime Lozano, who is preparing to play with El Tri in the quarterfinals of the Concacaf Nations League this month against Honduras.
