In Chivas de Guadalajara it seems that they consider that Alexis Vega has already learned his lesson and this Friday The Mexican forward was part of the expedition to Mexico City along with the rest of the team led by Serbian technical director Veljko Paunovic who will be facing the UNAM Pumas.

Although since the Sacred Flock have not announced the official call for the commitment which will be played this Saturday corresponding to the last day of the Apertura 2023 tournament of the Liga MX, everything seems to indicate that the forward would have received forgiveness from Chivas after having been the protagonist of an act of indiscipline more than a month ago.

Alexis Vega could be seen along with the rest of the players from the Guadalajara team making the trip to the Mexican capital for the match against Pumas, in which Chivas aim to take third place in the standings. Some fans identified him at the airport and asked for photos and autographs.

The Mexican forward, along with Cristian “Chicote” Calderón and youth player Raúl Martínez were separated from the team at the beginning of October for having given entry to the concentration hotel in Toluca to people outside the team. However, both Calderón and Martínez had already been called up by Paunovic again and have even started in recent games.

The only one who had not yet received a pardon is Alexis Vega, who was present last weekend at the Akron stadium prior to the match in which Chivas ended up beating Cruz Azul by the minimum (1-0). The forward was on the field during the warm-up and shared with his teammates before the match.

The last time Alexis Vega played a game with Chivas de Guadalajara was on October 1st in a 1-1 draw against Toluca before being removed from the team. From that moment The Mexican striker missed the last six games in which the Sacred Flock left record of four wins and a couple of losses.

The forward has not had a particularly outstanding performance in this Apertura 2023. Prior to all the controversy he was involved in, Alexis Vega had played seven games with Chivas de Guadalajara, of which four were as a starter and he had barely been able to score a goal in 353 minutes played with the Sacred Flock.

In this way the absence of the forward who He was with the Mexican National Team in the last Qatar 2022 World Cup, did not affect the Chivas too much, who reached the last day of the Apertura 2023 regular season with a ticket to the Liguilla assured. For their part, the Pumas are looking to finish sealing their ticket to avoid playing the play-in.
