In 2015 the tape “The Peanuts Movie”based on the comic strips created by Charles M. Schulz, was a huge success, grossing more than $130 million in the United States and Canada. For years, fans of characters like Charlie Brown, Linus and Snoopy have been longing for another animated film in the series, and now the platform streaming Apple TV+ has announced the production of a new film, which will begin in 2024.
In this new adventure Charlie Brown and Snoopy will take a trip to the city, where they meet new friends. The director will be Steve Martino (who also made “The Peanuts Movie”) and the script was written by Craig Schultz (son of Charles) along with Cornelius Ulianus and Bryan Schultz. Apple TV+ became interested in the project due to the excellent results that the cartoons of “Peanuts”.
It’s a statement Craig Schultz expressed his excitement at bringing the adventures of characters loved by several generations to the big screen once again: “It is very special to continue my father’s legacy with an original story from me, my son Bryan and his writing partner Neil. We are excited to partner with Apple TV+ and work with WildBrain Studios to give the public a new adventure of “Peanuts”along with the talented Bonnie Arnold as producer and Steve Martino as director. “Fans have been asking for another movie for years, and this film will bring joy to our millions of fans around the world.”
