A few days ago the producer and arranger Timbaland made comments about the singer Britney Spears, and within a few hours his social networks were filled with attacks, calling him a misogynist. Now he turned to his account TikTok to apologize for those statements.
In the clip, Timbaland (whose real name is Timothy Zachery Mosley) appears wearing headphones saying: “I apologize to Britney’s fans and to her. Do you know anything about respecting women? Yes of course”.
The controversy arose when the producer – who has worked with Justin TimberlakeSpears’ former partner for more than 20 years, was questioned about the song “Cry me a river”, which is mentioned in the singer’s memoir. He replied (in a mocking tone): “She’s going crazy, right? I wanted to call (Justin) and say, ‘JT, you have to put a muzzle on that girl.'” This year Timbaland returned to the charts with “Keep going up”a collaboration between him, Timberlake and Nelly Furtado.
