“Radical” by Eugenio Derbez debuts in the Top 5 at the US box office.

The film “Radical” continues to achieve success and now not only in Latin America, but in the rest of the world. And it is that The story starring Mexican Eugenio Derbez appeared among the top 5 at the US box office when it debuted in that country’s theaters last weekend.

Radical, from Pantelion Films and Participant and produced by 3Pas Studios, managed to gross $2,658,047 dollars in 419 theaters, to reach an impressive per-screen average of $6,344 dollars.

The success that this story has had in the United States comes after breaking several records in Mexico, where It became the highest-grossing local-language film ever released in that country since the coronavirus pandemic emerged in 2019.

The excitement for this production became palpable on October 19 in Mexico with the help of the distributor Videocine as the largest film premiere in the local language since before the Covid pandemic. As of November 5, the accumulated box office collection in Mexico is $133,000,000 pesos and 2,000,000 tickets.

What is “Radical” about?

Based on a true story, “Radical” takes place in a Mexican border town plagued by neglect, corruption and violence, where a frustrated teacher (Eugenio Derbez) tries a radical new method to break his students’ apathy and unlock their curiosity. his potential… and maybe even his genius.
