The bill presented by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene with the aim of lowering the salary of Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg, was approved in the House of Representatives.

By oral vote It was accepted that the taxpayer-funded government salary assigned to official Buttigieg corresponds only to $1.

That modification was achieved through an amendment to the General Government Appropriations and Financial Services Act of 2024, the separate funding bill for the General Services Administration, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other related agencies.

After knowing the result of the vote, Republican Greene posted a message on your X account, a platform formerly known as Twitter, where he reiterates that citizens should not absorb the expenses of the luxurious life of the Secretary of Transportation.

“Pete Buttigieg is not doing his job. It’s all about fake photos and taxpayer-funded private jet trips to accept LGBTQ awards for him. I’m happy my amendment passed, but he doesn’t deserve a single cent.

“American taxpayers should not be paying for his lavish trips or his salary,” he wrote.

The truth is The 41-year-old Democrat has been the subject of constant accusations since 2021, as his ability to provide immediate solutions to public problems has been late.

As if this were not enough, last year Buttigieg chose not to interrupt his vacation in Porto, Portugal, while the railroad workers unions and the White House held negotiations to avoid a strike that would have disastrous results for the country’s economy.

However, the federal government justified the official on the grounds that his trip had been planned and requested many months in advance.

To this must be added that Buttigieg has become famous for allocating thousands of dollars from the federal budget to renting private planes or for using government aircraft to travel to events that do not justify the expense.

An example of this occurred in September of last year, when the official used a federal plane to make a round trip to Montreal, where he attended the ceremony of a large Canadian gay rights organization, where he received an award for their contribution to the advancement of the rights of the LGBTQ community.

Now, it is enough to know the position taken by President Joe Biden who, in his capacity as president of the nation, can reverse the House approval regarding Buttigieg.
