Zelensky on going to the polls during the war: “I think it is not time for elections”

“I think now is not the time for elections.”Zelensky, whose term ends on March 31, said in his speech to the nation this Monday. The Ukrainian president asked to avoid “everything that involves political division” and focus on “the defense” of the country and the “battle” that will decide “the destiny of the country and the people.”

Zelensky makes these statements days after his former advisor, Oleksí Arestovich, asked that the elections not be postponed and announced his intention to run in the presidential elections.

Zelensky: It is “irresponsible” to launch a public debate on elections
