Sergio Checo Pérez and Fernando Alonso were involved in a tense fight for third place in the Brazilian Grand Prix which generated great excitement among the fans and the pilots themselves.
Both the Mexican and the Spaniard had a real fight for third place, which Alonso ended up taking.
After the race, Checo did not hesitate to meet Alonso and give him a hug to congratulate him for overtaking and having achieved third place.
“Did you apologize?” Alonso was asked after the hug with the Mexican pilot. “Yeah. “He’s happy and I told him not to put me through this stress because I’m older now,” Alonso commented about the meeting with Checo.
The Mexican Redbull driver commented that he lost the position fight with Fernando Alonso due to the little battery left in the car, although he congratulates him on the race.
“In the end we had very little battery to defend myself and recognize that Alonso had a great race, I would have liked to be on the podium but they are important points in the championship,” said Checo Pérez, who reached 258 units.
“It’s good to be back and the points saved are good for the championship,” declared the Mexican about his dispute with Lewis Hamilton.
“The truth is that I enjoyed it, it was fun. It was a fight from start to finish; and whoever won deserved it,” said the very noble Mexican pilot.
“This weekend has been very good, we are in a great moment despite what happened in Mexico (where he abandoned after crashing, risking too much, in the first corner). Let’s think positive; and the truth is that second place in the championship is getting closer and closer,” declared ‘Checo’ this Sunday after finishing fourth in Interlagos.
Aston Martin regained its morale this Sunday and celebrated in style the eighth podium of the season for the Spanish Fernando Alonso, who won a spectacular head-to-head against the Mexican ‘Checo’ Pérez (Red Bull) at the São Grand Prix Paul.
It was 0.053 thousandths of a second. That was the distance at the finish line between the two-time world champion and a ‘Czech’ who had to settle for fourth position after trying to pass the Asturian genius in every possible way during ten heart-stopping laps.
