Philadelphia food delivery man shot multiple times during carjacking

The police reported that A 64-year-old food delivery driver was in critical condition Monday after being shot several times by an assailant who ambushed him outside a home in Philadelphia and stole his vehicle.

The gunman who shot Sunday night in a neighborhood of North Philadelphia He remained unidentified and was at large on Monday, police said.

The shooting unfolded around 6 p.m. when the delivery driver, whose name was not released, left a takeout order at a home in the Port Richmond section from the city.

The victim was walking back to his Jeep when The criminal approached him from behind and shot him five or six times.according to reports from the police and neighbors to ABC Philadelphia.

The attacker fled in the victim’s car.

According to police, the victim was shot in the chest, back and torso. He was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The shooting left the Port Richmond residents shocked and worried that the shooter is still at large.

The incident occurred when Philadelphia is seeing significant drops in homicides and non-fatal shootings this year compared to 2022, when the city recorded 516 homicides.

Until Sunday, the Philadelphia police has investigated 360 homicides, a 20% decrease from the same period last year, according to police department crime statistics.

As of Sunday, Philadelphia has recorded 1,161 non-fatal shooting victims, including 22 in the first week of November, according to the center.
