Missing Massachusetts woman found dead in Boston airport parking lot

Margaret Mbitua 31-year-old woman reported missing last Monday in Massachusetts, was found dead inside a van parked in the parking lot of Logan International Airport in Boston.

“The evidence indicates that he was the victim of a homicide”The Massachusetts State Police said in a statement, without detailing how she was murdered, however, NBC Boston reported that the victim had been stabbed.

According to the investigation on this fact, The main suspect in the crime is the victim’s boyfriendidentified as Kevin Kangethe40, who would have boarded a plane to Kenya after abandoning Margaret’s body.

The arrest warrant for Kangethe, published this Friday morning, details that the Massachusetts State Police responded last Wednesday to the Logan central parking lot at 6:30 pm, where they found Kangethe’s vehicle, a white 2013 Toyota Venza .

Surveillance cameras captured images of the van at Lowell and Chelsea a day earlier.

Investigators said they found a person inside the unit, later identified as Mbitu. A large amount of blood was observed inside the truck. and she showed “obvious signs of death,” according to state police.

A nurse loved by all

Detectives are working with Kenyan authorities to find Kangethe, and said the murder does not appear to be a random act.

Meanwhile, the FBI has an international operations office in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. Former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer told CBS News that agents are likely already contacting local authorities to locate Kangethe and bring him back to face justice.

Mbitu She was reported missing by her family last Monday.. She was last seen leaving work in Halifax. The victim was a nurse who worked in BAMSI Foundation group homes for more than ten years, helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“She was warm, loving and loved by everyone she worked with., both the staff and the people I cared for in our group homes. “As an agency, we are mourning the loss of such an incredible young woman,” BAMSI Vice President Ulea Grace said in a statement.
