The disappearance of people is a serious problem in Mexico, which accumulates more victims every day, regardless of whether they are minors, women, or even of another nationality.

Zacatecas is one of the states where this alarming situation prevails, and many cases are related to organized crime groups dedicated to drug and migrant trafficking.

It is in this region where the disappearance of a Colombian family, made up of the parents and their three children aged 3, 6 and 11, was recently reported.

Although Local authorities have not released further details about this incident.the Zacatecas Prosecutor’s Office published the search files and activated the corresponding protocols to find his whereabouts.

They were traveling towards the border with the United States.

Some Mexican media reported that the victims were kidnapped by an armed commando who entered their house, but this was denied by the Secretary of the Government of Zacatecas, Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza, who stated that The family was passing through Mexico on the way to the border with the United States..

“The Colombian Consulate reported the non-location of five nationals of that country who were traveling by bus, reporting that the last location sent to their relatives was registered in Zacatecas, which is why the Prosecutor’s Office issued the corresponding search cards. Currently, we are in contact with consular authorities and with the transportation line to continue with the investigations,” the official explained.

The parents were identified as Jorge Alejandro García Villamil and Yulieth Andrea Alfonso Alfonso44 and 36 years old respectively, who were last seen with their children in the municipality of Calera.

In the alert sheets for the three minors it is detailed that there is fear for their integrity, since They may be victims of some other crime.

It is worth remembering that in Zacatecas, one of the states with the highest homicide rate, several disappearances of people who are forced to work for organized crime have been reported.
