The Texas Rangers won the first World Series in franchise history after defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games. The team achieved the title after 62 years.

After the Texas Rangers’ first World Series, there are only five teams left in the Major Leagues without at least one title.

The five teams are: San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Rays, Colorado Rockies and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Texas began as a franchise in 1961 under the name of the Washington Senators until they changed their name in 1972 to the Texas Rangers.

Their first participation in a postseason was in 1996. The first time they reached a World Series was in 2010. where they fell to the San Francisco Giants.

In 2011 they repeated reaching the final, but lost again to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games.

Of the five teams without a title, only the Seattle Mariners have not played in a World Series. Despite having had players like Randy Johnson, Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodríguez, Adrián Beltre, among others.

The Milwaukee Brewers and the San Diego Padres are the teams with the longest years in the Major Leagues without having won a title.. Both teams were founded in 1969.

San Diego has two MLB finals losses in 1984 and 1998. The Brewers lost the 1982 finals to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Corey Seager, MVP for the second time

The 29-year-old shortstop Corey Seager was proclaimed this Wednesday as the Most Valuable Player of the World Series that his team, the Texas Rangers, has conquered for the first time by winning four of five games against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the last 0-5.

The former Dodgers player thus added his second individual distinction. He obtained the first in 2020, precisely as a player in the Los Angeles team.

In the five games of the World Series that concluded today, Seager batted .285, with three home runs, six runs scored and six RBIs.

The one from Charlotte (North Carolina) hit a home run in the ninth inning of the first game and took the outcome to extra innings.

His two remaining home runs came in the third and fourth games, both coming two runs and then two outs.
