James Harden will play for the Clippersas revealed by an ESPN report early this Tuesday.

Adrian Wojnarowski, one of the journalists with the best sources within the league, took the transfer as a fact and revealed the details that will put an end to the novel of “The Beard”who He had asked to leave the Philadelphia Sixers.

In return of the player, the Philadelphia franchise, headed by Joel Embiid, will welcome Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, Nicolas Batum and KJ Martin next to two first-round draft picks and two second-round picks.

In addition to Harden, the Clippers will take PJ Tucker and Filip Petrusev.

The operation also includes an exchange of rounds, the termination of Danny Green’s contract by the Sixers and the possible entry of a third team to complete all the details.

Harden would join a Clippers project led by Kawhi Leonard and Paul George that in recent years seemed a great threat in the Western Conference, but has not yet lived up to expectations.

In Los Angeles he will also meet again with Russell Westbrookwith whom he shared a dressing room in the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets.

If finalized, his signing for the Clippers will close several months of constant controversy in Philadelphia, in which he called the president of the Sixers, Daryl Morey, a “liar,” a statement that cost him a $100,000 fine from the NBA.

Harden did not play for the Sixers at the start of the season while waiting for his situation to be resolved.

At 34 years old, Harden exercised at the end of the season NBA his player option for $35.6 million dollars and asked the Sixers to find him a destination away from Philadelphia, which represented his umpteenth attempt to relaunch his career with a new team after several failed attempts.

“The Beard”, originally from Los Angeles, A transfer to the Clippers was a priority, but negotiations became complicated for several months.

MVP of the 2018 season with Houston, Harden asked to be traded from the Rockets in 2020 and landed in the Brooklyn Nets, where he was part of a fantastic trio with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, although he could not get the ring.

In 2022 he again looked for a way out and found it in the Sixers, with whom he hoped to form a lethal duo with Embiid.

Once again, his project failed in the search for the title and this summer he asked for a transfer again, this time with the Clippers in mind and whom he has finally managed to join.
