Panamanian prospect of the San Francisco Giants is missing after threatening teammates

Jorge Manuel García, Panamanian prospect of the San Francisco Giants, is missing after he had a mental breakdown episode this weekend.

According to a statement from Major League Baseball, the pitcher threatened to shoot several people within the San Francisco organization. It is unknown what the reasons were that led to this threat.

“García is suffering from a mental health crisis and needs psychiatric intervention. If it appears in any stadium or facility of the Major League Club, must be removed from the premises. Contact the authorities and ask them to carry out a mental health and well-being check on García,” MLB details in a statement on October 28.

The 21-year-old right-hander has been in the Minor Leagues since 2019 with the San Francisco organization.

This year he worked 54 innings of work with four wins and eight losses in 26 performances.

“In late October 2023, García began behaving strangely and made multiple threats to shoot members of the d’s staff.”e the Giants organization and some of his own relatives in Panama,” details MLB.

On October 27, Garcia was scheduled to fly from Tucson, through Phoenix, and then to Panama. Upon landing in Phoenix, García left the airport Sky Harbor without your checked luggage. His current whereabouts are unknown. The Scottsdale Police Department is investigating these threats and searching for Garcia under the case.

Major League Baseball issued guidance for institutions or individuals who may encounter Garcia and report his whereabouts after fleeing at the airport in Phoenix, Arizona.

“Inform your security personnel and the police authorities in the area, in case García appears at your facilities. Call 911 if you feel insecure.

Garcia should be referred to local police for a mental health and well-being check.
