O’Shaquie Foster managed to come back in the fight against Eduardo ‘Rocky’ Hernández, whom he sent to the canvas twice in the twelfth round, to take the victory by technical knockout and defend for the first time his World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight title at the Poliforum Benito Juárez in Cancun, Mexico.

In a level duel that Hernández was dominating on two of the three cards (110-99, 107-102) Before the last round of the mandatory title fight, Foster was able to turn it around after punishing the Mexican in the eleventh round and stopping him last.

The challenger, who was still stunned from what happened in the previous round, fell twice and beat the score each timebut continued to receive powerful blows from the champion and referee Héctor Afu had no choice but to stop the fight at 2:38 of the twelfth round.

After achieving the victory, O’Shaquie Foster admitted that he was not satisfied with his performance against Rocky Hernández, but graded the comeback with an “A”. The champion too called for a unification fight with the winner of the fight between Joe Cordina and Edward Vázquez on November 4th.

“With the knockout in the comeback, I rate (his performance) an ‘A’. I really wasn’t very satisfied with my performance. But it was a fun fight. I had a lot of fun there,” Foster told DAZN’s Claudia Trejos.

“I want the winner of Cordina and Edward. That’s what we should have next. Let’s unify. I have proven and proven that I will get anywhere. If it’s the UK, let’s do it. I will unify anywhere. The ring doesn’t change, so let’s do it,” she added.

It should be noted that Foster won the WBC title after beating the previously undefeated Mexican Rey Vargas on points in twelve rounds last February in San Antonio, Texas, and in his first defense he was also able to retain the belt against Rocky Hernández, another Aztec fighter.
