The long-awaited movie Disney’s live-action “Snow White” has given a lot to talk about due to a series of significant changes. The first surprise for fans was the announcement that Rachel Zegleran actress of Latin descent, would take on the role of the iconic princess, which sparked a lot of controversy online.
Criticism intensified when the first image of what the seven dwarfs would look like in this adaptation was revealed. Following the current trend of disneythe depiction of the dwarves differs noticeably from its original version, prompting a negative reaction from fans of the classic film.

Rachel Zegler, who plays Snow White, has highlighted that this new version will move away from the traditional romantic plot to show the princess as a leader, following the values that her father transmitted to her. The reimagined story and the casting of Zegler, as the first Latina actress to play Snow White, have generated mixed opinions online due to her departure from the source material.
The original movie, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs“, premiered in 1937 and marked the beginning of animated feature films disney. More than 85 years later, the cast and crew behind the remake promise a modern take on the classic fairy tale.
“Snow White” is being directed by Marc Webb, known for directing films such as “The Amazing Spider-Man” 1 and 2, as well as “500 Days of Summer.” The script was co-written by Greta Gerwig, renowned director and screenwriter, as well as Erin Cressida Wilson, who has worked on scripts for films such as “Secretary” and “The Girl on the Train.” Gerwig is especially recognized for her participation in films such as “Lady Bird,” “Little Women” and the upcoming “Barbie” adaptation.

Rachel emphasized that the media tends to be particularly cruel to Taylor Swift in an unjustified way and that it is essential to analyze how men feel entitled to talk about women, their bodies and their sexual lives.
Rachel Zegler pointed out that these types of comments about women’s personal lives are unfortunately normalized, while you rarely see this type of criticism directed at men. The actress stressed that society tends to apply different standards and judgments to the attitudes and relationships of men and women. She also mentioned that it is not only men who perpetuate this type of discourse, as women also participate in it.
