Four women run over and killed while walking in Malibu

Four women They were hit and killed while walking on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH)in Malibu, by a driver who lost control of his car and ran over them on Tuesday night, authorities reported.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 pm in the 21500 block of PCHin the La Costa Beach area, east of the Malibu Pier.

Authorities said a black BMW was traveling westbound on PCH when the driver He lost control and crashed into several parked vehicles. and ran over the four women who were on the side of the road.

The four women They died at the place where they were run over.while two other people had to be transferred to a nearby hospital, without the severity of their injuries being known.

“We were in a terrible car accident and the PCH was closed. Unfortunately, we have four dead, four people who did not survive,” said a Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) captain.

“The bailiffs are here and they are going to carry out an investigation to find out what caused this. It’s a difficult scene right now,” she added.

Authorities are investigating the causes of the accident, but it is believed that speeding could be a factor.

It is being investigated whether two drivers could have been running on PCH at time of accident in an illegal street race, a problem that has become a recurring crime on this stretch of highway, according to area residents.

The driver of the BMW car involved was described as a 22-year-old man and is in the custody of the authorities. He is expected to be charged with vehicular homicide charges.

California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for Pacific Coast Highway in both directions between Las Flores Canyon Road and Carbon Canyon Road remained active while LASD officers carried out investigations and the damage from the accident was removed.
