Thousands of people gathered in front of the Israeli consulate in Toronto on Tuesday night to protest against the massacre caused by the bombing of a hospital in the Gaza Strip. and express their support for the Palestinian people.
Around 2,000 people, many of them carrying Palestinian flags, gathered in the heart of Toronto, in front of the doors of the Consulate General of Israel in the Canadian city, amid shouts of “Gaza” and “Freedom for Palestine.”
Although the demonstration took place peacefully, Toronto Police reported that at least one person had been arrested, although without stating the reasons.
In the nearby town of Mississauga, about 30 kilometers from Toronto, another demonstration on Tuesday night also brought together hundreds of people to express their rejection of the bombing of the Al Ahli Hospital, one of the health centers in central Gaza, an attack in which hundreds of people died.
The attack on the hospital was condemned this Tuesday by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. which has expressed its full support for Israel since Hamas launched an attack on Israeli territory on October 7 that caused hundreds of deaths.
Trudeau declared the attack “horrific” and “unacceptable” as well as contrary to international law.
In the rest of the world, the massacre at Al Ahli Hospital, where thousands of people were taking refuge fleeing the Israeli bombardment of the northern part of the Gaza Strip, has caused widespread revulsion. and demands to clarify responsibilities.
Egypt accused Israel of deliberately bombing the hospital, although Israeli authorities denied that they attacked the building and accused Palestinian groups of responsibility for the massacre.
