The current situation of Sergio “Checo” Pérez does not go unnoticed in the world of Formula 1. The former F1 champion, Nico Rosberg, is the most recent to comment on the Mexican driver of the Red Bull teamwho has been involved in various rumors due to the poor results achieved recently.

After placing tenth in the Qatar Grand Prix more than a week ago, “Checo” Pérez has given a lot to talk about inside and outside the Austrian teamwhere it is speculated that they only think about winning the runner-up position and if they do not achieve it they would already have a replacement for the Mexican, although he still has the remainder of this season and all of 2024 left on his contract.

Now with the United States Grand Prix at the door, the Mexican will continue to attract attention waiting for what he can do this weekend in Austin. Preparations have already started for what the race will be and Nico Rosberg could not help but show solidarity with “Checo” Pérez.

“First of all, I confess that I feel empathy for him, since it is horrible to be in the situation he is in.”acknowledged Rosberg, who is currently part of the Formula 1 broadcasts of the British network Sky Sports.

After the coronation of Max Verstappen in Qatar and with the constructors’ championship in his pocket, Red Bull is focused on securing second place in the drivers’ classification for the Mexican who is pursued by the seven-time F1 champion, Lewis. Hamilton of the Mercedes team.

“Now he faces a lot of pressure and everyone on social media criticizes him. “Qatar was another very bad weekend and Red Bull really needs to think carefully about its position.”added the former German driver, in a less supportive tone with the man from Guadalajara who still has a 30-point advantage over Hamilton in the standings.

“He is not performing at his best”

Already in a slightly more severe tone towards Sergio “Checo” Pérez, former German driver Nico Rosberg considers that the Mexican has become a headache for Red Bull, taking into account that they were looking for the same level in their two drivers.

“It is a big headache for Red Bull because the team needs two good drivers and at the moment “Checo” is not really performing to the best of his abilities”said Rosberg, who classified the Mexican’s campaign as a “disappointment.”

“I don’t understand how he is so far from his partner. Maybe it’s because (Max) Verstappen is so spectacular, but still the gap between the two is too big. “I think he disappointed the fans in a way, because he made it too easy for Verstappen.”he finished.
