NFL Executive Vice President Peter O’Reilly acknowledged this Sunday that the league is analyzing options to hold regular season games in Spain and Brazil in the future.

“Spain and Brazil are two strong markets and most importantly, they are markets that interest the teams. “It’s important to join the places where teams are building their fan base,” O’Reilly told the network. ESPN.

The two potential venues that the NFL has set its sights on in Madrid are Santiago Bernabeu, home of Real Madrid, which has just had a renovation that highlights its retractable pitch that allows it to protect the grass in a deep pit, and the Metropolitano stadium, of Atlético de Madrid, considered by UEFA “Elite Stadium”, the highest distinction awarded by the organization that governs European football.

“There are some classic football teams around the world that are really interested in hosting the NFL and building a relationship with the league. We are simply determining the moment to approach,” explained the manager.

In Brazil, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo are the cities that are being analyzed to have future league games.

“There is a lot of interest in the NFL, we already saw it. We had a Super Bowl viewing party last year in Brazil and it was packed; “There was a lot of energy there,” he accepted.

This year, the NFL will play five regular-season games in Europe; three in London and two in Frankfurt.

The first will be the duel between Falcons and Jaguars next Sunday in week 4 at Wembley Stadium; In week 5, on October 8, the Jaguars will face the Bills at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the same venue that will host Ravens-Titans in week 6, on October 15.

The two matches in Frankfurt will take place at Deutsche Bank Park. Dolphins and the champion Chiefs will meet on November 5 in week 9 and Colts-Patriots will do so on the 12th.
