Michael Keaton's deleted cameo revealed in Spider-Man: No Way Home

The last installment of Spider-Man, jointly produced by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures under the title “Spider-Man: No Way Home”left all the followers of this superhero surprised by its intriguing inclusion of characters from multiple dimensions.

Among the surprises that were contemplated was the possibility of an exciting cameo by Michael Keaton in his role as Adrian Toomesbetter known as the Vulture, a character who left his mark on “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

This potential return of Keaton to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is an exciting event for Spider-Man fans. Although we had not seen the Vulture in the MCU since his confrontation with Spider-Man in “Homecoming”, the movie “No Way Home” was presented as the perfect opportunity to bring back this iconic villain.

The conceptual artist of Marvel StudiosPhil Saunders, recently shared a visual rendering that reveals what the Michael Keaton’s discarded cameo in the film. According to Saunders, in one of the first versions of the “No Way Home” script, Peter Parker would have sought the help of his former enemy to rehabilitate the five villains from other dimensions who were trapped in his reality.

The idea was for Peter to use the severed tentacles of the Doctor Octopuscontrolling them in the same way he did in the final version of the film, to keep the villains under control while they tried to break free.

However, due to the complexities of the production and the availability of actors, this exciting cameo by Keaton as the Vulture did not materialize in the film. Despite this, the conceptual image allows us to imagine what this scene would have been like and how it would have affected the story of Peter Parker in the MCU.

The inclusion of Michael Keaton would have been a valuable tie-in to the MCU’s origin story, as his character was one of the first villains Spider-Man faced in this film continuity. Additionally, it would have added an additional level of complexity to the film’s plot, as Peter would have had to collaborate with one of his enemies to save villains from other dimensions.

Although in the end we did not see Michael Keaton in “No Way Home”, his proposal to participate in the film reminds us of the constant process of development and change that a film production goes through. Even though fans were unable to enjoy this exciting cameo, the final version of the film still offered us an epic adventure full of surprises and exciting moments for Spider-Man and his fans.

I just disconnected from the industry a little bit and connected deeply with my personal life and my family. It was a change of scenery more than a retirement,” Keaton told Entertainment Tonight during the introduction of him as Raymond Sellars in the film “RoboCop” in 2014.

The actor is proud not only of having reserved a space for himself, but also of his son’s professional and personal growth.
