The couple asked Singapore Airlines for a refund and they were unhappy when they were initially offered travel vouchers, so they continued with the airline case.
After months of complaints, the airline agreed to a refund of around $1,410, which they said they planned to donate to a New Zealand charity that brings together guide dogs and the visually impaired.
