Emanuel ‘Vaquero’ Navarrete and Vasyl Lomachenko. These two names could be part of a stellar card, according to the latest speculation in the world of boxing.

Reports from specialized media such as ‘3kingsboxing’indicated that a fight between these two fighters could be organized after the decision of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) to grant super champion status to Navarrete.

Since last August, speculation has arisen about a possible weight loss for Lomachenko at 130 pounds, where he was already super featherweight champion, only with the aim of facing the Mexican. It should be noted that both fighters belong to the same promotion (Top Rank), something that would facilitate negotiations.

Apparently, the objective would be to guarantee a fight between the Ukrainian and the Mexican, whether at lightweight or super featherweight. However, this duel is not as easy as it seems, as some boxing scenarios have to occur for it to be successful.

Is a fight between Emanuel ‘Vaquero’ Navarrete and Vasyl Lomachenko possible?

First, Devin Haneywho already defeated Loma at the beginning of the year in a fight with a lot of controversy due to its result, would have to vacate his titles if he beats Regis Programs and decides to stay at 140 pounds.

If this happens, the light title of the OMB would be vacant and Navarrete, now super champion, could appear as a mandatory challenger. However, the reality is that the ‘Vaquero’ will have to defend his super featherweight title OMB against Robson Conceicao in November, while Lomachenko He would enter the ring by 2024.

Emanuel ‘Vaquero’ Navarrete28, kept his junior lightweight belt from the OMB after beating Oscar Valdez by unanimous decision last weekend. The Mexican has a record of 39 wins, 31 knockouts and has only been defeated once in his professional career.
