#LadyFrijoles recognizes the error that caused her deportation and went from TV to selling on the street

In 2018, Mirian Zelaya Gómez, alias “Lady Frijoles”, She became famous for having criticized the food offered to immigrants in Mexico, pointing out that the beans were food for pigs.

The woman originally from Honduras managed to enter the United States, but her life took a turn in 2019, when she was detained for rioting and then the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency deported her.

A journalist from Honduras published a video on Instagram of when the woman was found on the streets of that country, where she sells horchata and food as a street vendor. She asked him why she had been deported.

“For fighting, not for fighting, right, but… for being involved, that’s the word,” said Zelaya Gómez, who said that she continues to be recognized as “Lady Frijoles.”

She and her sister were accused of attacking Alba Escobar Andradewho gave them accommodation in his home.

Upon returning to Honduras, “Lady Frijoles” managed to be placed on a television programbut during the pandemic that job opportunity was closed.

“He no longer works on television, because the program was closed during the pandemic,” he told journalist Rudy Mejía.

Zelaya Gómez was questioned about the beans controversy, but said that she had done a live video on TikTok to explain it.

“What happened is that the journalist raised what was in his favor. When he told me to show him the food tray, I told him that it was not necessary for them to feed us and that the beans were for pigs,” the woman stated.

Asked what she was doing selling horchata and catrachas, Zelaya Gómez said that it was the way to “earn her daily bread.”

The woman did not clarify about her marriage plans.
