Greg Abbott accused the Biden administration of removing barbed wire on the Texas border to favor illegals

Since November of last year, Greg Abbott had exposed how the immigration phenomenon was growing in Texas, but the federal government did not take action on the matter.

Greg Abbott, governor of Texas, blamed Joe Biden’s administration for removing much of the barbed wire that had been installed in Eagle Pass with the aim of preventing the access of undocumented people to US territory.

The state president issued a message on platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Texas installed barbed wire at Eagle Pass to stop illegal crossings. “Today the Biden administration CUT that cable, opening the floodgates to illegal immigrants.”he indicated.

Due to this and with the purpose of avoiding a wave of undocumented immigrants trying to take advantage of the ease of access to US territory, Abbott quickly took action as soon as he was informed of what happened.

“Immediately deployed more Texas National Guard to repel illegal crossings and install more barbed wire“, he mentioned.

Likewise, the 65-year-old Republican shared the image of a document sent to Joe Biden in November of last year through which he reminded him that Democratic policies caused what he called “an invasion on our border.”

“We are building a border wall, barbed wire and sea barriers. We are also repelling immigrants,” part of the text described.

However, this initiative did not have the approval of the White House, since in July The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a legal suit against the Texas government for having installed a buoy barrier over the Rio Grande on the border with Mexico.

In this regard, a federal judge ruled that the Texas government should uninstall the buoy barrier, but within hours the United States Court of Appeals suspended the resolution and the case is currently under analysis.

It should be noted that the relationship between the federal government and Texas authorities became strained due to Greg Abbott’s initiative to sponsor free transportation of undocumented immigrants to sanctuary cities, with the aim of preventing them from remaining in the star state. lonely

This week, the Biden administration announced the sending of 800 more soldiers to the border with Mexico to seal the access points of undocumented immigrants, several of which are located in Texas.
