What seemed like a normal afternoon at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), with dozens of passengers ready to board and others landing, soon became It became the epicenter of a shooting.

According to the authorities, on Tuesday afternoon, police and emergency services were mobilized due to a shooting in terminal 1, where a person was shot at gate two of the national arrivals areawhich caused personnel from the Ministry of the Navy and the Ministry of Citizen Security to initiate protocols to contain the event.

According to official information, The shooting actually came from a chase, as the police were carrying out an investigation and monitoring in the vicinity, due to various citizen complaints of theft in the customs area, when they observed the passage of a vehicle probably involved in said crime.

“The crew member, upon observing the police presence, fired shots at the uniformed officers and accelerated the march until entering the AIC parking lot entrance.M, where he hit several vehicles and, upon getting out of the unit, he was arrested. As a result of the above, an officer was injured by a firearm and a policewoman was injured by a run over,” the agency mentioned.

Despite this, the moment turned into moments of terror, as the detonations caused people who were in the documentation area on airlines with domestic flights to become alert and some suffered a nervous breakdown.

AICM users shared videos where they heard the exchange of bullets, while observing how they protect themselves behind counters and inside shops.

So far, the details of the detainee or whether he belonged to a criminal group are unknown, in addition to the health status of the only injured person.
