The young Mexican-American Efraín Álvarez is the new signing of the Xolos Tijuana of the Liga MX, this was announced by the club through its social networks. At 21 years old, the Pack’s jersey will be the first in Mexican soccer in his career that has been developed in the MLS.
He did much of his training as a professional player in the lower divisions of the LA Galaxy, where he made his MLS debut and he was able to share the field with figures such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Douglas Costa and Javier “Chicharito” Hernández. In fact, with Zlatan he continues to maintain a beautiful friendship in which the Swede still advises him on football.

Efraín Álvarez is of Mexican parents, which is why he has had the opportunity to represent El Tri from the youth categories to Mayr. He is remembered in his participation in the U-17 World Cup in Brazil 2019 where they faced the host in the grand final, the same in which they were one step away from winning the title.
“Efra” is one of the promises of Mexican soccer with only 21 years of age, his game stands out for his educated left foot, adding his creativity in attack and his good touch on the ball. She is currently in the city of Tijuana under the orders of the Xoloitzcuintle strategist Miguel Herrera.

Efraín Álvarez played 94 games with the LA Galaxy43 from the beginning, in addition he scored six goals and distributed a total of 11 assists. He now arrives in Baja California with the goal of helping the team get out of a string of bad results that keep him in 16th place with only five points.
“Arriving at Xolos means a lot to me, they are on the border side, I always watched their games and they caught my attention. I am very happy to arrive and contribute my grain of sand”, were the first words of Álvarez with the colors of Tijuana.
He also expressed that he hopes to collaborate with his teammates and help the team come back and that they can achieve the main objective would be to enter the Liguilla and then try to go for the championship with those directed by Miguel Herrera.
