Until next October 1, eligible residents of the state of Montana will have the opportunity to submit the application for your property tax refund, which according to the entity reaches $675 dollars.
According to Governor Greg Gianforte “property taxes are too high, which is why we prioritized and secured immediate property tax relief for Montanans this legislative session. Now is the time to take advantage of reforms to reduce the burden of property taxes in the long term”he said in a statement.
Who is eligible for the refund?
To receive the property tax refund, applicants must meet certain requirements: have a home and have resided in the state for at least seven monthsat that time the taxes on that property corresponding to fiscal year 2022 should have been paid.
How can you submit the request?
The deadline to send the refund request is until October 1, you can make the claim through their website which will be available until the last week of this month, there is also the option of filling out a printed form.
How much is the refund amount?
According to the entity, the amount of the property tax refund that each taxpayer will receive is a maximum of $675 dollarsbut this will also depend on how much tax has been paid on the applicant’s main property.
When will the refund be sent?
Once the application has been submitted, recipients will have between 30 to 90 days to receive the refund, the time will depend on the way the claim was made, whether online or on paper. Finally, for the year I came, state officials assured that a refund equal to this year’s will be sent, only that the next one will be from fiscal year 2023.
