This first Monday, September 4, Labor Day 2023 is celebrated in the United States to honor the millions of American workers that day by day contribute to the economy and growth of the country.
Mostly during the holidays, hundreds of stores offer discounts and offers, in addition as summer is coming to an end, many stores have clearance sales to give space to the new season.
As expected for this day there will be locations that will not provide services, such as the public administration and some retail chains for that reason. We make you a list of the places that will be open and closed for this holiday on September 4.
Banks
During this Monday, the country’s banks will not be providing commercial service for box office service, but their online platforms and ATMs will be available. Notably, the stock market will also pause; the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ will not be listed
Government
Federal buildings, offices and departments will also be closed for this day, the same for courts, public libraries, among others.
Post Office
The post offices of the United States Postal Service also do not provide their services for this holiday, since the carriers do not work on this day. However, FedEx Custom Critical and FedEx Office will distribute packages at modified times and only their premium service.
Retailers
Regarding the retail chains, the main ones such as: Target, Walmart and Kroger which will operate during their normal hours like the other stores in the country, for those that have pharmacies their hours can be reduced, the only retailer that will be closed is Costco since during the course of the year the vacation policy of its employees is respected.
