HOUSTON – The allegations by a minor against a Houston Police Department officer ended with the officer’s resignation.

This week it was announced that William McCoy, 25, was relieved of his position on Monday and that McCoy has tendered his resignation. The now ex-officer faces charges of indecency with a minor and indecent exposure after a criminal investigation conducted by the Humble Police Department.

According to court documents, probable cause is based on two incidents of indecent exposure on August 24 and 25, 2023, including a felony indecency with a minor.

In the first incident, which occurred in the Hobby Lobby parking lot, an individual reportedly approached a victim’s vehicle, exposed his genitalia, and briefly masturbated before leaving the scene. The vehicle involved was a white Honda.

In the second incident, which took place near the Deerbrook Mall in the Macy’s parking lot, a victim reported that an individual in a white Honda stopped and asked her questions before exposing himself and briefly masturbating. In this case, a child was also observed in the back seat of the vehicle. The vehicle’s license plate number was noted by the victim and was later confirmed to be registered to William Logan McCoy.

McCoy was assigned to the North Belt Patrol Division and joined the department in March 2021. The criminal cases are now in the Harris County court system.
