The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, described as a “comedy and farce” the election of the senator of the National Action Party, Xóchitl Gálvez Ruizwho will be the opposition presidential candidate of the Broad Front for Mexico.
“What we saw now was a comedy, a farceIt got a little complicated for them because they thought that with advertising the balloon was going to inflate but no, they could even lose and they began to operate”, he assured.
From the National Palace, the Mexican president said that the opposition contest was a simulation after the constant declines of the applicants registered in the Broad Front for Mexico, among which the senator stands out Beatriz Paredes, from the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), who resigned yesterday, Wednesday, August 30, in favor of Gálvez Ruiz.
In addition to Beatriz Paredes, other candidates who declined were the former president of the Chamber of Deputies for the PAN, Santiago Creel, and the former Secretary of Tourism, Enrique de la Madrid.
“Tell them that it is unfortunate because it is a matter at the top, it is the manager Claudio (X. González, businessman), this has never been seen in history, so clear, so shameless because they did not even finish their process, but it was pure decline, pure decline, I told you, I told you!”, he expressed from his morning conference.
“Those who decide are those at the top, I mean those of the conservative bloc… What happens when they impose someone from above? Well, they will be at the service of those aboveof those who imposed the president, is an employee, that’s why democracy is best,” he warned.
López Obrador assured that he won the bet after having pointed out since last July, in one of his morning conferences, that Xóchitl Gálvez was chosen by the so-called “power mafia”.
“I won the bet, I won the bet, don’t go saying I didn’t know I have to admit what it was about… Don’t be fooled anymore, you always have to fight the simulation,” López Obrador told reporters who attended the Treasury room at the National Palace.
Given the president’s remarks about having won the bet, Senator Xóchitl Gálvez, who will receive her certificate as presidential candidate of the Broad Front for Mexico on Sunday, September 3, 2023, challenged López Obrador, without mentioning his name, to a new bet.

It was at the beginning of July 2023 that Andrés Manuel López Obrador revealed that Xóchitl Gálvez Ruiz would be the opposition candidate of the Broad Front for Mexico and of the “power mafia”.
