In order to capture the largest number of Latino votes that they can contribute to the re-election of Joe Biden as president, Kamala Harris turned to one of the advisers who supported her during her time as a senator.

In this way, it was revealed that, shortly, Sergio Gonzales will join her team to travel with her planning better campaign strategies mainly to reach the Latino community.

A few years ago, who currently serves as executive director of Immigration Hub, an immigration advocacy groupworked in the Harris Senate office.

Practically, the reinforcement of the vice president of the nation brings in the genes the knowledge about the civil rights of Latinos, since he is the grandson of Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales, Renowned activist who fought at the head of the Chicano Movement in the 1960s.

Through a statement sent to CBS News, Harris expressed his satisfaction at joining his team whom he defines as a leader.

“Sergio was a leader in my Senate office where he worked on behalf of millions of Californians,” he noted.

In addition, President Joe Biden’s right-hand man highlighted Gonzales’ ability to galvanize small business recovery who suffered from the side effects of the pandemic that plagued the world for at least a couple of years.

“Recently, your leadership and advocacy, as an external ally and trusted partner of the Biden-Harris Administration, has helped us create opportunities for small businesses and ensure that all communities share in the economic recovery,” Harris said.

It should be noted that Sergio Gonzales has a long experience of working for the public administration, during the Obama-Biden administration he served as deputy chief of staff in the Office of Personnel Management.

In addition, worked as a regional director on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaignin 2016.

In this way, he will now try to reinforce the image of Kamala Harris who recently she had faced certain problems in addressing issues in some meetings where she had participated as a guest.

Among the unfortunate episodes experienced by the vice president are not being able to define the concept of culture and reading a text without realizing that the proposal to reduce the population with the aim of combating climate change had come out of her mouth.

Another mess in which she was involved was when she gave her opinion, without having deep knowledge regarding the modification in the curriculum on slavery authorized by Ron DeSantis in Florida. The latter even meant a signal from the Republican inviting her to find out well before giving her opinion or agreeing to meet with him so she could verify that her opinions were unfounded.

This way, With the arrival of Sergio Gonzales to his team, it is projected that these blunders will no longer be repeated and even the image of Harris will tend to strengthen in front of the Latino community.
