In the middle of 2023, an act considered barbaric continues to be committed, but in some places it is part of their uses and customs, while in others it is due to people’s weariness of being victims of crime and the inaction of the authorities to reduce insecurity. We are referring to lynchings, as happened recently in the Mexican state of Hidalgo, where a thief was punished.
Everything was recorded when residents heard noises in a house located in the municipality of Tezontepec de Aldama, so they went to find out what was happening and found a man stealing from the property.
Immediately they caught him, demanded that he return what he had stolen and began to beat him mercilesslybut it did not seem like enough punishment and they decided to do something more forceful, according to the newspaper Milenio.
The residents stripped him naked and tied him to a post inside a sports unit so that he would be displayed, but the situation did not stop, so a 911 call alerted authorities to what was happeningMoments later the police arrived, and after managing to reason with the residents, they handed over the offender.
Despite the beating, the thief – who was said to be 20 years old – did not lose his life, as usually happens in this type of event where criminals are tortured to death. The residents argued before the authorities that the subject did not act alone, since they assure that they saw an accomplice flee the house.
For his part, Ramón Corona, head of the local command, entered into a dialogue with the upset inhabitants and with those affected by the house, to whom he suggested that they go to the Public Ministry agency to file their criminal complaint, since this procedure is necessary. to keep the offender detained so that charges can be attributed to him and he can be admitted to a penitentiary center.
