It was a busy Tuesday for Carlos Tevez. The legendary Argentine ex-soccer player, now converted into DT, took the reins of Independiente today and in a matter of hours signed his contract, led his first training session and offered a press conference in which he talked about his plans with the King of Cups.
As Tévez himself had announced in some media, his entry into Club Atlético Independiente was already made official and this Tuesday they welcomed him on social networks wishing him success.
Soon after, the team’s official social media accounts shared images of the signing and videos of his first training session, before introducing him to the media at a press conference, where he shared his plans for the team.
“First we are going to focus on ourselves and on what we want to play. Then we will think about the rival“, he assured when asked about the match he has on the doorstep against Vélez Sarsfield, in which he will debut on Sunday, August 27, on date two of the Argentine tournament.
About his game philosophy, the DT, who will lead his second team after a discreet step through Rosario Central, assured: “Today you have to win and I come to that. My teams are intense and those who throw their heads for this shirt will play with me“.
Finally, after the bad results last season, the same ones that caused the departure of the previous technical director, Ricardo Zielinski, “El Apache” stated that he will bet that each one of the elements of the team correctly fulfills their role so that they can leave the pothole in which the team finds itself, since they fell on the first date and, if we take into account previous games, they add 4 losses in a row.
“We will try to make everything as simple as possible. Let everyone do their job and get out of this situation together.”he assured.
This will be Tevez’s second incursion as soccer manager, after in 2022 he directed Rosario Central for 5 months, but he was dismissed for failing to meet the team’s expectations. His balance was six wins, eleven draws and seven lossesfinishing in twentieth place in the League Tournament.
Now, with Independiente, his main objective will be to avoid the relegation of a team that, as if that were not enough, in addition to the problems it has on the field, also suffers outside, since the manager Pablo Cavallero resigned, the president Néstor Grindetti advanced that he could take a license and former player Mauricio Cuero accused divisions in the squad.
