The Government of the northern Mexican state of Coahuila found on Saturday the body of a migrant, who along with three others who have also been found dead, had been reported missing. when they left the municipalities of Cuatro Ciénegas and Ocampo to illegally cross the border with the United States.

“Previously, three dead people had been located, adding (with today’s) four deceased people already located”, detailed the state government.

the four people They were part of the group of 16 undocumented who left the aforementioned Coahuila municipalities bound for the neighboring country to the north.

In total, 12 people managed to cross the border into the United States.; however, they were secured by Border Patrol authorities already in North American territory.

The four people located dead were found by the institutional brigades that carried out air and ground operations.

Elements of the Beta Group of the National Institute of Migration, the Mexican Army, the National Guard, the Criminal Investigation Agency, the Coahuila Secretary of Public Security, Civil Protection and municipal authorities participated in the search.

The Coahuila Attorney General’s Office and the Republic’s Attorney General’s Office indicated that they are part of the investigation folders, in their respective jurisdictions for the crimes of human trafficking, abandonment of persons and whatever results.

On Thursday, the state government confirmed the discovery of the lifeless bodies of three young people who had entered the desert in their attempt to cross illegally into the neighboring country to the north.

Last Wednesday, The Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, acknowledged a rebound in the migratory flow after the initial fall that caused the expiration last May of Title 42, a United States regulation that allowed the immediate expulsion of migrants due to the pandemic.

The United States also reported that crossings of undocumented immigrants at the southern border increased more than 30% in July.according to preliminary Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data obtained by The Washington Post, dealing a heavy blow to President Biden’s new immigration enforcement strategy.

The Biden government attributed this increase to a “seasonal” trend and insisted that the immigration measures implemented to control migration have been “effective.”

Specific, 132,652 people were arrested while trying to cross the border with Mexico irregularly, according to the data provided by the official.

The increase in illegal crossings was most pronounced in the deserts of southern Arizona, despite daytime temperatures often exceeding 110 degrees F. CBP agents made about 40,000 arrests in July, the highest total in a month for the Tucson sector in 15 years, according to CBP data.

The abandonment of migrants on highways and in desert areas of the country also reflects the unprecedented migratory flow in the region, with more than 2.76 million undocumented migrants intercepted by the United States at the border with Mexico during fiscal year 2022.
