Mexicans celebrated twice in the United States. El Tri thrashed Jamaica 3-0 in the Gold Cup semifinal and Carlos Vela did the same, but in the context of the MLS. With a goal from the Mexican LAFC defeated St. Louis City 3-0, the leader of the American championship. The match took place at the BMO Stadium.

The duel was a worthy fight between two teams fighting for the highest positions in the MLS. Both teams studied and respected each other too much, until a genius broke the zero on the scoreboard and opened the commitment. That genius was in charge of Carlos Vela.

The Mexican striker was in charge of opening the scoring at minute 70 of the game. The Aztec soccer player showed that he still has speed in his legs and after a great pass from José Cifuentes, LAFC went ahead on the scoreboard.

The other two goals would come in the final 20 minutes through S. Biuk and José Cifuentes in aggregate time.

Carlos Vela signed another round match. In addition to his important goal to open the scoring, the Mexican conceded an assist at 2-0. This is the second time this season that the Aztec has scored and assisted. Since he came to MLS, the Bomber has achieved this double digit 20 times.

A breather to Los Angeles FC

This LAFC win against St. Louis City has a lot of value. In addition to beating the MLS leader, Carlos Vela’s team ends a losing streak of four consecutive games without winning. The Los Angeles team had not won at home since June 21.

With this victory, the Los Angeles team is planted in the second position in the Western Conference of the MLS. The LAFC accumulates a record of 10 wins, 6 draws and 6 losses which are equivalent to 36 points. Carlos Vela’s ensemble is only 2 points from the top, since it is still under the power of St. Louis City.

Los Angeles FC’s next match will be July 15. The Los Angeles team will face the Minnesota United as a visitor. The match will take place at the Allianz Field in the city of Saint Paul, state of Minnesota.
