Atlético Madrid sells a Uruguayan midfielder with great projection to Liga MX

He Atletico Madrid Spanish football sold Uruguayan midfielder Juan Manuel Sanabria to its Mexican branch, San Luisreported this Wednesday in a press release the entity from San Luis Potosí.

“The morning of this day, Atlético de Madrid and Atlético de San Luis have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Juan Manuel Sanabria”, explained the club based in San Luis, a city in central Mexico.

Sanabria, 23, signed for San Luis in July 2021, when Atleti loaned him out for one season; In 2022, the Colchorenes extended the loan for one more year until in 2023 they decided to transfer it permanently to their sister club.

The one that emerged from the Uruguayan Nacional was integrated as a prospect for the discipline of Atlético de Madrid in 2018. In the Madrid team, he went through Juvenil A and Atlético de Madrid B, after which he was loaned to Real Zaragoza for the final part of the 2020-2021 campaign.

Since his arrival at San Luis, Sanabria has earned a scheme in the team, with which in 69 duels he has contributed three goals and assists. In the last Clausura 2023 tournament, the Uruguayan started 16 of 18 games.

Sanabria stands out for being a midfielder with the ability to fulfill the role of pivot and inside on the right. Along with his passing through the clubs, the native of Florida He was part of the Uruguayan under-23 team that played the South American Pre-Olympic for Tokyo 2020 and played in the Poland 2019 U-20 World Cup.

After agreeing to the transaction, the Uruguayan will be able to rejoin the discipline of San Luis, which debuted in the Apertura 2023 with a 1-1 draw against Rayados del Monterrey. On the second day of the tournament, the Mexican ‘Atleti’ will visit Chivas del Guadalajara this Saturday.
