20-year-old man loses part of his hand while setting off fireworks in South Los Angeles

A man in his late 20s lost part of a hand while setting off fireworks Tuesday night in South Los Angeles.

The victim was rushed to a hospital for medical attention. due to partial amputation of the hand.

Teams of Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at approximately 11:25 p.m. to the 2600 block of South Catalina Street, in the Adams-Normandie neighborhood.reported Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).

According to Prange, the victim suffered a “reported limb injury.”

The KTLA network reported that the victim lost part of his right hand while setting off fireworks, according to several witnesses.

When the emergency services arrived, they treated the man, who covered hand with a towel while paramedics applied first aid.

Several mortar tubes could be seen on the public road after the incident.

Fire in residence due to possible fireworks

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the Residential roof fire at approximately 9:30 p.m. in South Los Angeles.

The residents of the residence were evacuated. while the roof presented some flames.

The authorities suspect that the fire could be caused by a stray fireworkbut the conflagration remains under investigation.

When fire crews were at the scene of the fire, some explosions could be heard in the area.

No residents were reported injured in the fire.
