Darren Drozdov, former WWE wrestler who remained a quadriplegic, has died at the age of 54

Better known as “Droz”, today the WWE released the tragic news of the death of Darren Drozdov, emblematic fighter of the renowned company and that he left for another plane at only 54 years of age.

Originally from New Jersey, Drozdov was a complete athlete, apart from wrestling, he excelled in sports like football. It should be noted that the wrestler was a quadriplegic, due to a neck injury suffered from a poorly executed wrestling maneuver.. However she was able to regain most of the use of her upper body and arms.

His debut took place in the year 1998, specifically on May 25, his injury occurred on October 5, 1999, during an edition of Smackdown. It should be noted that he had the particularity of being able to cause vomiting spontaneously, something that they took advantage of in the industry and nicknamed him “Puke”, this nickname along with “Droz”, was the one he used during his career.

“We are sad to share that our beloved Darren passed away this morning of natural causes. There are no words to convey the deep sense of loss and sadness that we are feeling right now.“Wrote the family through a statement published on the official WWE website.

“We would also like to thank WWE for treating him like family and for all their love, support and effort in making sure Darren always had the proper care and treatment to live in his condition for the past 24 years.“, the statement continued.
