Inter Miami falls thrashed and suffers its seventh consecutive defeat while waiting for Messi and Busquets

Inter Miami, awaiting the arrival of Argentine Lionel Messi and Spanish Sergi Busquets, lost this Saturday 1-4 at the Philadelphia Union field and it continues without seeing light in the American MLS, in which it is sunk in the last place in the East.

Both Messi and Busquets, whose signing was announced this Friday, will not be able to debut with Inter Miami before July 5, when the MLS summer market session opens, and it is very likely that its premiere will not take place before July 21 in the Leagues Cup match against Cruz Azul.

The club of which the British David Beckham is co-owner is experiencing moments of great enthusiasm off the pitch, but on the pitch his football is far from being competitive.

In their visit to the Philadelphia Union, which last year lost the final against Los Angeles FC, Inter Miami was completely outclassed and once again gave a very poor defensive image.

He received the first goal in the 14th minute with a header from the Norwegian Jakob Glesnes in an action originating from a corner kick. It was the tenth goal from set pieces conceded by Inter Miami this year.

The team led by Argentine Javier Morales went into the break already losing 3-0 and with two goals conceded in the last five minutes of the first half.

In minute 39, the Argentine Julián Carranza made it 2-0 after a serious defensive error by the Swede Christopher McVey, who let a cross from the right wing bounce into the area and left the striker free to finish off with his right foot.

In added time, the German Leon Flach made it 3-0 to the light with a low shot from the edge of the area and, after the momentary 1-3 goal scored by the Finn Robert Taylor, Honduran David Ruiz completed Inter Miami’s nightmare with his own goal in the final 1-4 draw.

Inter Miami suffered its seventh straight loss and won just five of its 18 games this year. He is bottom with fifteen points and is eleven points away from the ‘playoffs’ positions.
