CHILPANCINGO, Mexico – The dismembered bodies of seven people, two of them identified as women, were located on Saturday in front of the church in the Barrio de San Mateo in Chilpancingo, capital of the southern Mexican state of Guerrero.

According to a police report, it was through an anonymous call early this Saturday that the discovery of a van with lights on and five heads on the chest was reported.

It was reported that behind the heads there were two cards, one of them addressed to the municipal president Norma Otilia Hernández Martínez, although the content of the other was not reported.

When the police forces arrived, they found a gray van on September 16th Street, in front of the church and square of that traditional neighborhood of the capital; I had the lights on and the trunk open.

The rest of the bodies were inside and other limbs were on the pavement.for which the street was cordoned off in its entirety, while the proceedings and the removal of the bodies were carried out.

The bodies are of the members of a family that had been reported missing since June 9 while they were traveling to the capital and for which protests were made to locate them.

Some days ago These people, along with other men, appeared in a video that circulated on social networks in which they appeared with little clothing and with their hands tied behind their backs.

In the video, they said they were guilty of the murder of the director of the Quechultenango municipal hospital, which occurred in Chilpancingo this month, among other murders that occurred in the capital.

These facts are reported just days after the Mexican government reported that so far in 2023 there have been 12,582 homicides, an average of 83 per day, and May the most violent month so far this year in Mexico with 2,660 intentional homicides registered. .

Homicides had an annual drop of 7.1% in 2022, when Mexico had 30,968 murders after the two most violent years in its history, under the mandate of López Obrador, with 34,690 murder victims in 2019 and 34,554 in 2020, followed by 33,308 in 2021.
