The violence that is experienced in Mexico is something known to the world, places that were previously paradises for tourism have become hells where insecurity and crimes are the order of the day and their perpetrators do not respect anyone, not even women. No children, no tourists. Given this situation, the United Kingdom issued a travel alert to several Mexican states.

It was the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office that issued a travel alert for 10 states of the Mexican Republic due to insecurity related to robberies, assaults, kidnappings, drug violence and the hurricane season, reported the newspaper Milenio.

British diplomacy “advises against all trips, except essential ones” to the states of: Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Zacatecas, Tamaulipas, Colima, Guerrero and Michoacán.

Likewise, it also advises against all trips to Baja California, Guanajuato and Jalisco, especially to the city of Tijuana, the south and southwest of Lake Chapala and the areas southwest of highway 45D.

Similarly, the Foreign Relations Office advised that travel to major cities such as Ciudad Juárez, Los Mochis, Nuevo Laredo, Manzanillo and Acapulco be limited.

The European country pointed out that the security situation in Mexico poses a risk to foreigners due to the existence of street crimes, as well as serious violent crimes such as robberies, assaults and kidnappings.

“Drug-related crime and violence are prevalent and on the rise. You should be especially careful to avoid being caught up in violence between criminal groups,” says the Travel Alert.

Despite this, the British government recognized the effort that the Mexican government makes to protect the main tourist destinations, but also recalled that For two years there have been clashes between criminal groups in popular tourist destinations such as Cancun.

“While tourists have not been targeted, anyone in the vicinity of an incident could be affected,” he added.

It also warns about demonstrations

Mexico City is a place where demonstrations take place almost daily, which were noted in the travel alert to British citizens, “You should avoid demonstrations and follow the advice of local authorities if you are in an area where He’s holding a protest.”

The United Kingdom ranks fourth in tourists traveling to Mexican territory, so they leave an important economic benefit. In addition, it is the European country that visits Mexico the most, which can mean a significant loss.
