Ohio police reported that A pregnant woman died last week after her two-year-old son grabbed a gun and shot her in the back.

Laura Ilg, 31, called 911 Friday afternoon and told the dispatcher that she was 33 weeks pregnant and that her 2-year-old son had shot herthe Norwalk Police Department said in a statement reviewed by NBC.

Her husband, Alek, reported moments later that he had received a call from his wife yelling at him to call the police.

Police released audio of the 911 call, and the woman can be heard crying out for help in a panic.

The officers arrived at 1:14 p.m., three minutes after their first call was made, and forced entry into the home.

She told officers what happened while they were rendering aid, police said.

“Laura was transported to Fisher Titus Medical Center, where an emergency C-section was performed,” police said.

Her unborn child was pronounced dead less than an hour after the 911 call was made, while the woman was pronounced dead at 5:10 p.m.

Responding officers took possession of the weapon, a Sig Sauer P365, along with a casing and loaded magazine.

The couple told authorities that the gun was stored on a nightstand in his bedroom. There was also a 12-gauge shotgun and an airsoft rifle in the home, police said.

No charges have been filed, but police said the results of the investigation will be forwarded to the local prosecutor’s office.

Monday night, A 7-year-old boy fatally shot a 5-year-old boy inside a home in eastern Kentucky.

An initial investigation found that the shooting reported Monday night at McKee’s home was accidental, Kentucky State Police said in a statement.

Life-saving measures were attempted, but the Jackson County coroner pronounced the boy dead at the scenesaid the police.

There have been more than 150 unintentional shootings by children in the US so far this year, which resulted in at least 58 deaths and 101 injuries, according to the advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety.
