Although the actor michael shannon currently promoting the film “The Flash” (in which he plays General Zod, the villain), made it known that blockbusters and science fiction sagas are not something that attracts him.
In a recent interview for EmpireShannon revealed that in 2016 he was offered a role in a “Star Wars” movie, but he turned it down: “I always mistrust those giant movies a bit. Because it takes a long time to work on them and I don’t find it very stimulating. I don’t want to get caught up in a saga. I don’t find it interesting and I don’t want to propagate them. If I’m doing something, I want it to have some kind of purpose. I don’t want to do meaningless entertainment. The world doesn’t need more of that. We are inundated with it.”
Michael’s statements would seem ironic, given his participation in two superhero films from DCbut for him that is different, because in the film Man of steel In 2013, he believed that he would only play the character once, for which he did an in-depth study: “I don’t see Zod as the villain. I just see him as a guy whose job it is to protect people from him. I couldn’t see myself playing Zod again because (he) was already dead. I was shocked to hear this about repeating the character. But I like the story “The Flash” It counts and I wasn’t there very long, just a couple of weeks, so I didn’t break my back doing it.”
