Official: Pitbull Cruz returns to the ring against Giovanny Cabrera on the Spence Jr. vs. crawford

Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz already has a rival and a date for his next fight on the ring. The Mexican will face Giovanni Cabrera in the co-main event of the undercard starring Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford on July 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The information was confirmed by Pitbull Cruz himself after posting the promotional poster of the fight on his Instagram account. The name Cabrera as an opponent had been playing since March, when the first rumors arosebut it was not until today that the announcement was made official.

It should be noted that the Mexican boxer he started winning good fights after his fight with Gervonta Davis, held in December 2021, when he replaced Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, the original challenger, who withdrew after facing accusations of sexual abuse. After a close confrontation, the American, who came out with an injured left hand, took the victory on the judges’ scorecards by unanimous decision and retained his World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight title.

Next, the Mexican knocked out Cuban and former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa and his compatriot Eduardo ‘Zurdito’ Ramírez, in bouts held in April and September 2022, respectively. Now, the boxer will have the opportunity to continue with his good moment, extend his winning streak and get a fight for the belt.

Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz, 24, who is also in the crosshairs of Ryan Garcia, has a record as a professional of 24 wins (17 of them on the fast track), two setbacks and a draw.

For his part, Giovanni Cabrera comes from achieving an important victory in July 2022 after defeating Gabe Flores by unanimous decision of the judges. The American will try to stop the aspirations of the Mexican and thus continue to rise in the lightweight category. The 28 year old boxer he remains undefeated after 21 fights as a professional, where 7 of them ended by knockout.
