Jaime Munguía shows respect for the Ukrainian Sergiy Derevyanchenko before the fight: “This will be the toughest fight of my career”

The Mexican Jaime Munguia showed respect for the Ukrainian Sergiy Derevyanchenko and this was demonstrated in the last pre-combat conference which will take place from the Toyota Arena in Ontario in California next Saturday June 10.

“This fight is a good fight for us and for the fans. Without a doubt, he is a great rival to measure myself and know where I am in the division. Without a doubt, this is the toughest fight of my career.“said Jaime Munguía, letting it be understood that he has great respect for the Ukrainian boxer.

“This will be a great fight, a great war. I trained very hard for this event, and this fight will be exciting with a lot of punches and ¡Arriba México!“continued the 26-year-old Aztec boxer born in Tijuana.

Recognition of Sergiy Derevyanchenko to Jaime Munguía

Although Sergiy Derevyanchenko has admitted wanting to end the fight with a good blow before the 12 rounds, he has also recognized the talent of Jaime Munguía and made it known in his statements. “I accepted this fight because Munguia is a tough fighter. I wanted this fight; it’s a tough fight; I want to fight tough fighters“said the Ukrainian.

Derevyanchenko also issued a warning to Munguía and his team: “I’m not worried about Munguia or his team passing me by. That is a problem for them, not for us. I’m focused on the fight, so we’ll see on Saturday”, he claimed.

The fight between the Mexican and the Ukrainian has been agreed for the 168 pounds. Jaime Munguía arrives with a record of 41 undefeated wins including 33 laurels by way of chloroform. He was also the WBO super welterweight champion, a title he successfully defended five times.

For his part, Sergiy Derevyanchenko arrives with a record of 14 wins, including 10 on the fast track and he has also added four defeats. The Ukrainian boxer has fought three times for the world title and has failed to hang the belt even once.
