A few days after returning to Iguala, Pablo Salgado, radio host and chronicler, was shot dead when he was driving along Periférico avenue. Behind the crime would be organized crime, reported the Attorney General of the State of Guerrero.
And it is that according to official reports, Salgado had left Iguala for a while, due to the threats he had receivedbut a few days ago he decided to return to his place of origin to resume his activities as a presenter at a radio station in Iguala.
Armed men intercepted him and shot him.
But things did not turn out as he had thought, since he was shot to death on Friday morning when he was driving along Periférico Sur avenue, when he was intercepted by a group of armed men, who without exchanging words began to shoot him.
Salgado was traveling in his white XTrail pickup truck when He was executed by a group of hitmen. The authorities went to the scene and found the body of the announcer inside his vehicle.
Police found at the scene nine shell casings and several bullet holes in the windshield of Salgado’s truck.
Organized crime would be behind the crime
Given the type of execution, the prosecution presumes that organized crime is behind the events.
“The participation of organized crime groups is presumed”sources from the Guerrero prosecutor’s office indicated.
According to official reports, Pedro Salgado, known as “The Chameleon Nail”left Iguala for a while, after receiving various threats from organized crime groups, but had recently returned to the entity.
After Salgado was assassinated, the area was cordoned off and guarded by members of the National Army, National Guard, and the Ministry of Public Security.
Salgado was known for his chronicles of bullfights. In addition, he was the host of the radio program “The Great of Jaripeo”which was broadcast on Saturdays at the La Grande de Iguala station.
The Facebook account of Tuxpan GuerreroHe increased the murder of the broadcaster and offered his condolences to the relatives of the victim.
“We join in prayer with family and friends. We wholeheartedly wish eternal rest for our friend Pablo.
Salgado is survived by his wife and two children, local media highlight.
Tuxpan Guerrero also shared a video of the announcer’s wake, where several people from the town attended, as well as a music band to fire Pablo Salgado.
The murder of Pablo Salgado is the fourth recorded in the administration of Governor Evelyn Salgado, who took office in 2021.
Violence has been escalating in recent months, according to the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), until May of that year, there have been 650 homicides in the state of Guerrero.
