Social Security will send double payment in June: who will receive it

The Social Security Administration (SSA) reported that a double payment corresponding to the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Program will be sent for this month of June.

In this sense, the payments are intended for beneficiaries with disabilities, low-income seniors and their survivors. In this case, the first check corresponding to the current month was sent on June 1 and On the 30th, the payment for the month of July will be advanced.

The entity explained that the average amount for SSI beneficiaries is $650 dollars; according to the program the maximum benefit for a individual reaches $914 dollarsfor the married couple is $1,371 dollars.

Social Security for this year has already established the payment schedule for retirees and other beneficiaries of the different programs. The SSA anticipated that the payments will be sent by the first days of each month, however, if the date falls on a weekend or holiday, check shipments will be advanced so that they arrive within one business day.
